Are you shortsighted？ ( nearsighted / shortsighted )
多年前我在Community College进修英文，某日老师进入教室后向我们宣布，她得眼镜坏了，看不清楚字，今天不用课本，以自由交谈得方式上课。我立刻打开话匣子问老师：“Are you shortsighted？”老师瞪了我一眼，然后用冷淡的音调回答：“I am not shortsighted。”
我仍然不知趣的继续问她：“How come you can't see very well？”这时候老师知道我又在说中国英文，便心平气和利用机会来教育我们，她说：“I am a nearsighted person. I am not shortsighted. There is a difference between nearsightedness and shortsighted."
Nearsighted表示此人视力有问题,而shortsightedness表示此人没有远见的意思!
