LESSON 26 The ant and the cricket 第二十六课 蚂蚁和蟋蟀
A silly young cricket, accustomed to sing 愚蠢的年轻的蟋蟀,习惯了唱歌
Through the warm sunny months of gay summer and spring 度过春夏温暖晴朗的日子
Began to complain,when he found that at home 当他发现家里这样，开始抱怨
His cupboard was empty, and winter was come. 他的柜子里是空的,却冬天来了。
Not a crumb 1 to be found 一个面包屑都找不到
On the snow-covered ground; 大地白雪皑皑
Not a flower could he see, 他在树上没有看到一朵花
Not a leaf on a tree;— 一片树叶;-
"Oh, what will become," said the cricket, "of me?" 说:“哦,我将变成什么?”
At last, by starvation and famine made bold, 最后,通过饥饿和饥荒使得疯狂,
All dripping with wet, and all trembling with cold, 潮湿，冷的发抖,
Away he set off to a miserly ant, 他遇到了一个可怜的蚂蚁,

Though this is a fable 2, the moral is good:— 尽管这是一个寓言,寓意是好的:-
