"Oh! call my brother back to me! “噢！把我哥哥叫回来吧！
I cannot play alone; 我不能一个人玩耍；
The summer comes with flower and bee— 夏天到了，花儿开了，蜜蜂也开始工作了——
Where is my brother gone? 我哥哥去哪了？
The flowers run wild, the flowers we sowed 花开在野地里，那是我们
Around our garden tree; 在庭院树周围播下的种子；
Our vine is drooping 1 with its load— 我们种的葡萄已经硕果累累——
Oh! call him back to me!"— 噢！把我哥哥叫回来吧！”——
"He would not hear thy voice, fair child! “他听不到你的呼喊，可怜的孩子！
He may not come to thee: 他是不会来的：
The face that once like spring-time smiled, 那如春天般温暖的微笑，
On Earth no more thou'lt see. 在世上是绝无仅有的。
A rose's brief bright life of joy, 玫瑰的短暂的喜悦生活。
Such unto him was given; 这样对他；
Go—thou must play alone, my boy! 去吧——你必须要一个人玩耍，孩子！
