地道表达：

let someone down

解词释义：

let someone down与“make somebody disappointed”的意思一样，都是“使某人失望”。有点场合使用的区别，就是let sb down在口语实用频率更高。

拓展讲解：

let down用连字符将它们组合在一起，就变了名词let-down。这在对话中的第一句就可以看到。

Eg. The hotel has run out of beer.

Eg. You go on. I'm afraid I can't climb to the top, I've run out of steam.
