7、Chomsky's grammar should show patterns of language change that are independent of the family tree or the pathway tracked through it, whereas 1 Greenbergian universality predicts strong co-dependencies between particular types of word-order relations.
【分析】
并列复合句。whereas连接两个并列的分句。 第一个分句的主干是 Chomsky's grammar should show patterns…。that引导定语从句修饰language change，从句中of后是or连接的两个并列宾语;过去分词短语 tracked through it 修饰 pathway；it 指代 family tree。定语从句可以前置，放在它所修饰的名词前。
