The National Development and Reform Commission on last Tuesday announced a rise in the per-ton retail 1 price of gasoline by 165 yuan and diesel 2 by 160 yuan.
国家发展改革委上周二发布通知称，将汽、柴油零售价格每吨分别上调165元和160元。
This is the first adjustment since China made changes to its oil pricing mechanism 3 in January, which set a floor for adjustment to buffer 4 the negative effects of violent fluctuations 5 in international oil prices.
这次是自我国于今年1月对石油定价机制做出改变之后的第一次油价调整。该机制为价格调整做好了基础，以此减少国际油价剧烈波动带来的负面影响。
The adjustment will see benchmark retail prices for gasoline go up by RMB0.12 per liter and diesel increase by RMB0.14 per liter.
据测算，本次调整将会使得90号汽油和0号柴油的零售价格每升分别上涨0.12元和0.14元。

China launched a new fuel pricing scheme that sets up a price floor and ceiling at the beginning of this year. Under the system, the price floor is at $40 a barrel and the price ceiling at $130.
