Typhoon Damrey lands in E China

JINAN, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- Typhoon Damrey made landfall in east China's Jiangsu province on Thursday night, bringing gales 1 and rains to Jiangsu and its neighbouring Shandong province.
Damrey, the tenth typhoon of the year, came ashore 2 near the Chenjiagang Township of Xiangshui County around 9:30 p.m., packing winds of 126 km/h near its center, according to China's National Meteorological Center.
The storm has brought precipitations to 21 counties in the southern coastal 3 areas of Shandong, local meteorological authorities said. It is moving northwest at a speed of 30 km/h.
