The Japanese parliament, the Diet, has begun its ordinary session with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe delivering his policy speech.
Abe has talked about pushing forward the so-called proactive pacifism. The session is scheduled to last for 150 days, until June 22nd.
Parliament members will hold a question-and-answer session after Abe’s scheduled trip to India on January 25th.
The ruling and opposition 1 parties are expected to debate on the controversial state secrets law, the fiscal 2 2013 supplementary 3 budget and the fiscal 2014 budget.
