Another New Zealand dairy product exported to China has been found to have excessive levels of nitrates. Lactoferrin powder, a multifunctional protein produced by New Zealand’s second largest dairy company Westland Milk, was temporarily banned from being imported.
新西兰出口中国的又一种乳制品被发现硝酸盐超标。由新西兰第二大乳制品巨头韦斯兰特生产的多功能蛋白质——乳铁蛋白粉被中国禁止进口。
This comes after two batches 1 of the product were found to have elevated levels of nitrates. 390 kilogrammes of the powder was imported to China as an ingredient in other products. But it has not reached consumers yet.
这是继2批新西兰进口乳制品被发现硝酸盐超标后的又一起乳制品问题事件。从新西兰进口的390公斤乳铁蛋白粉为用于生产其他产品的原料。但是目前该产品还未流通至消费者手中。
China’s product quality watchdog has asked the New Zealand government to conduct thorough inspections 2 of its management systems. Earlier this month, New Zealand’s biggest dairy exporter Fonterra was found to be contaminated with botulism-causing bacteria.
