Fourteen people have been killed and ten injured in a stampede during a religious gathering 1 in northwest China’s Ningxia Hui Autonomous 2 Region . Sunday afternoon’s stampede came during the handing out of traditional religious food to attendees at a commemoration event. The stampede happened in a mosque 3 in Ningxia’s Xiji county of Guyuan city. The injured are in hospital immediately, with four in a critical condition. An investigation 4 is underway.
