"I didn't know there was a charm," answered Dorothy, in surprise. "What is it?" 多萝茜惊奇地说：“我不知道这顶金冠会有这样的魔力，那该怎么做呢？”
"It is written inside the Golden Cap," replied the Queen of the Mice. “金冠里面已经告诉你了，”田鼠皇后回答说。
"But if you are going to call the Winged Monkeys we must run away, for they are full of mischief 1 and think it great fun to plague us." “既然我们要去叫那些飞猴们来，我们离开这里，因为它们都是最喜欢搞恶作剧的，以困扰我们，当作大大的游戏。”
"Won't they hurt me?" asked the girl anxiously. “它们会伤害我吗？”女孩子焦急地问着。
"Oh, no. They must obey the wearer of the Cap. Good-bye!" “啊，决不会。它们绝对服从戴着这顶金冠的人，再会！”
And she scampered 2 out of sight, with all the mice hurrying after her. "Good-bye! Good-bye! Good-bye!" 它就很快地消失了，所有的田鼠们，也都匆忙地跟在它的后面走了。“再会！再会！再会！”
Dorothy looked inside the Golden Cap and saw some words written upon the lining 3. 多萝茜就发现金冠里面的夹里上，写着一些字。
These, she thought, must be the charm, so she read the directions carefully and put the Cap upon her head. 她相信，说出这些字必然会产生魔力，所以她细心地读着这个用法，再把金冠戴在头上。
"Ep-pe, pep-pe, kak-ke!" she said, standing 4 on her left foot. “哎—泼，攀—泼，步—基！”她说着时，她的左脚独立旋转着。
"What did you say?" asked the Scarecrow, who did not know what she was doing. 稻草人发觉了她的奇怪行动，问道：“你说些什么？”
"Hil-lo, hol-lo, hel-lo!" Dorothy went on, standing this time on her right foot. “唏—罗，呵—罗，哈—罗！”多萝茜说下去，然后，她的右脚独立旋转着。
"Hello!" replied the Tin Woodman calmly. “哈罗！”铁皮人平静地回答着。
"Ziz-zy, zuz-zy, zik!" said Dorothy, who was now standing on both feet. 现在多萝茜并立着两只脚旋转着，说着：“西—楚，如—楚，西—克！”
This ended the saying of the charm, and they heard a great chattering 5 and flapping of wings, as the band of Winged Monkeys flew up to them. 她刚说完那神秘的咒语，不远便传来极大的嘻闹声和拍打翅膀的声音，一群飞猴来到了他们面前。
