I'm going to boil some water. 我要烧一些水。
To boil, "boil," means to make the water one of very hot until you start to see bubbles. 烧（boil）意思是让水变得非常热直到你开始看见水泡为止。
The average temperature is 212 degrees Fahrenheit 1, or 100 degrees Celsius 2, in order to boil water. 要想烧开水，平均温度要达到212华氏度或100摄氏度。
Well, "when the water starts boiling" — when it starts to make bubbles because it is very hot — "I put in the pasta." 好了，“当水烧开了的时候”——当它开始起水泡的时候，因为它的温度非常高——“我把意大利面放了进去”。
I take the pasta — the pasta noodles, "noodles" — the little pieces of pasta, we call those noodles — and I put them into the boiling water so they can cook. 我拿着意大利面——意大利面条（noodles）——一种细小的面团，我们称之为面条——我把它们放进开水中煮。
Then I decide I want "to make a salad" because I'm very hungry. 由于我饿了，我便决定“制作沙拉”。
Well, just as I decide to make the salad, "just then, my wife opens the back door." 那个，就当我开始制作沙拉的时候，“就在这时，我妻子打开了后门。”
"Just then" — that expression means at that time — at that same time — "my wife opens the back door" — the door to the house in the back, the opposite would be the front door. “Just then”这个词组的意思是“就在那时”——与此同时——“我妻子打开了后面”——这个门是在房子的后面，与之对应的是前门。
She yells, "I'm home!" That's what you would say when you come home to someone who is already there, you would say, "I'm home!" 她大声喊道，“我回来了！”这是当你回家的时候，家里已经有人了，你会对他们这么说，你会说，“我回来了！”
You wouldn't say, "I've arrived," or "I'm here," you would say, "I'm home." 而不会说“我到了”，或“我在这里，”而是说“我回来了。”
