CNN Students News is getting started right now.Teachers,we want to remind you,it's always a good idea  for you to  preview our show.

One report of today's program discussed a teen suicide and sexuality. That's story's coming up in a few minutes.I'm CA.Let's get started.

We start with trail of stories in Washington DC.

First up,a possible comprise in Congress. It looks like we might not be headed for a government's shut down.US Representatives is expected to vote  tomorrow on a proposal that we keep the government funded through early October. Then, next Tuesday the House will vote on another proposal that will keep the fund running through mid 1 n November Both these bills were passed by Senate on Monday night and remember the bill has to pass through the House and the Senate before President Obama can sign it.These bills include more than 2 billion dollars for FEMA,the Federal Emergency Management Agency, that group funding with natural disaster in the US.There was a chance for a partial government to shut down if Congress hasn't reached this comprise by the end of this week.

Moving  to the two additional branches of government. US Supreme 2 Court starts its new session next week. The justices have to decided 3 which cases they are going to review. One of the big ones, they can end up in front of  the High Court is about whether or not parts of the President Obama's Health Care Law are constitutional.Other high profile cases that could give review involve church and state.

CNN JFis here to talk about how the justice decide which case to hear.
J,how many cases actually go to the Supreme Court?

They get about 8000 cases a year and they only take about 80 case a year.Basically, the first thing they look at into is have the lower courts splitted?have they been inconsistently ruling of the lower court on the same issue that we have the  Supreme Court to resolve sorts of these disputes. That's one kind of category of cases and another category is a little bit more   the cases that the Supreme Court simply says,we have to resolve this issue. It's officially important that we have to resolve.

Our third Washington headline has to do with the Washington Momentum 4.Back to August earthquake that shocked most of the US east coast caused some cracks in the Washington Momentum.Officials are trying to figure out if there is any damage that might has been caused and that they might have missed. The surveillance camera footage was taken during the quake and shows a part ranger, who realized what happening and calmly helped get a group of tourists down the stairs, out of danger. She later went back up to the stairs to help more people out.The Washington momentum is just over 555 feet tall and looks at closely at the top there. That guy is sitting up here that will help let him repel 5, down. He's part of a team  engineers, that were looking for any additional cracks that need to be fixed, which could cause problem down the road.
