Apparently hungry for attention after weeks' international focus on the nuclear deal with Iran, North Korea tried putting the spotlight 1 back on its own nuclear ambition, inviting 2 journalists to a rare press  conference with Pingyong's ambassador to China ?. For twenty minutes the diplomat 3 ran through the usual litany of anti-America rhetoric 4, insisting  North Korea is a nuclear power under constant threat of attack from US with no plans to disarm 5.

The DPRK is not interested at all in a dialogue to discuss the issue of making as freeze or dismantle 7 our nuke unilaterally first, the ambassador said, and he  blamed the US for what he calls an increasingly violent situation on the Korea Peninsula, expressing outrage 8 over next-month's annual joint 9 military drills between South Korea and US. On Monday, North Korea celebrated 10 what it calls victory Day, the sixty second anniversary of the truce 11 ending the Korean War. The supreme 12 leader Kinzhongong seen on  state media thanking veterans for defeating US aggressors. Above him, a huge portrait of his grandfather, Kin 6?, the founder 13 of North Korea state, bearing a remarkable 14 and many say deliberately 15 cultivated resemblance to the young third generation leader. Back in North Korea ambassy, the press conference is over. It's time to go.
We are certainly being watched very closely as we film inside the ambassy. That's very similar to what it's like when you are actually reporting in North Korea as well. Clearly the idea of any media being here, especially the western media, makes the government leaders a bit uncomfortable. So they are watching our every move and they carefully guard the kind of access we get , but just being able to go through this gate, being able to CD inside of the ambassy is still quite rare. The kind of access North Korea only grants when it wants the world to pay attention, promising 16 to strike back with force against its No.1 enemy, the United States.
