【1】.fore-：before 前、预先
forecast v. & n. 预测；预示
E.g. Such events may forecast an outbreak of war.
这些事件可能预示着战争的爆发。
foretell 1 v. 预言；预告
E.g. We can't foretell how the world will end.
我们不能预言世界将如何终结。
foreground n. 前景
E.g. The figure in the foreground is the artist's mother.
图画前景中的人是画家的母亲。
foresee vt. 预见；预知
E.g. It is difficult to foresee the consequences that may arise from this action.
预见这一行动可能产生的后果是困难的。
【2】.pre-：before 之前
prehistory n. 史前
E.g. In the long period , the researches of prehistory are abundant.

prologue 4 n. 序言，序幕；
E.g. The prologue of the book is a famous writer.

prophet n. 先知，预言家
E.g. He holds the belief that he is a latter-day prophet.

【4】.post-：after 之后
postwar n. 战后

postgraduate 5 n.研究生
E.g. She has satisfied the entrance requirements for a postgraduate.

retrograde adj. 倒退的

2 prerequisite
n.先决条件；adj.作为前提的，必备的

3 prelude
n.序言，前兆，序曲
- The prelude to the musical composition is very long.这首乐曲的序曲很长。

4 prologue
n.开场白，序言；开端，序幕
- A poor wedding is a prologue to misery.不幸的婚姻是痛苦的开始。

5 postgraduate
adj.大学毕业后的，大学研究院的；n.研究生

6 retrospect
