And thick cloud stretching across the Queensland tropics is triggering scattered 1 showers and thunderstorms. Excessive cloud over the Northern Territory and WA interior is bringing thundery showers. Cloud pushing over Tasmania with a front is bringing rain.
Taking a look around the states. And starting in Queensland, showers are increasing over the east tropical coast. Rain elsewhere through the tropics and on the central coast.
In New South Wales, the chance of showers about the central and northern coast, clearing during the day. Showers developing about the southern ranges later in the afternoon.
In Victoria, showers developing on and south of the ranges during the day, mostly along the coastal 2 fringe. Isolated 3 thunderstorms possible near the eastern ranges. Down in Tasmania, scattered showers about the west, extending state wide during the morning. Showers easing and mostly contracting to the south and east during the evening.
In South Australia, possible light morning rain about the southeast coast, otherwise fine and mostly sunny. In the west, some rain developing in the afternoon in central and southwest Gascoyne and the north or the central west. There'll be thunderstorms and showers in the Kimberley and in the Top End. Rain or thunderstorms mainly in the afternoon or evening.
And looking ahead to Sunday. A shower or two in Sydney. Early rain in Melbourne, showers clearing in Hobart, a thunderstorm in Perth and more rain in Darwin.
