US President Barack Obama will make an historic visit to Hiroshima during a trip to Japan this month.
Obama will visit Hiroshima with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. He will be the first US president to visit Hiroshima, the site of a US nuclear attack at the end of World War Two in 1945. In a statement, the White House said the visit highlighted President Obama's continued commitment to peace in a world without nuclear weapons.
