非洲留学生享受快乐巴西

Brazil is not only a dream destination for soccer fans from all over the world. The emerging power is also receiving more and more students from Africa. The country is more accessible than the U.S. or Europe, and African students can find better infrastructure 1 here than they can at home.

巴西不仅仅是令足球迷们心驰神往的国度，做为一个新兴大国，巴西正在吸引越来越多的非洲留学生。和美欧相比，巴西的门槛更容易跨入，而巴西的教育设施则胜过这些留学生的家乡学校。

With almost 40,000 students, the University of Brasilia is an institution in Brazil's capital city.  Among them are a hundred or so Africans who came to try the Brazilian adventure.  Most of them are from Angola or Cape 2 Verde, but you also find some Francophones from Ivory Coast and Democratic Republic of Congo.

巴西利亚大学是此间的招牌机构，有将近4万名学生，其中包括大约一百名前来巴西闯荡的非洲人。他们多数来自安哥拉或佛得角，不过也有一些说法语的学生，来自科特迪瓦和刚果民主共和国。

"Here you have more facilities for the students, like the library," said Congolese student Morgan Tshipampa Nganga Mayoyi.  "Many other things you do not have at UNIKIN [University of Kinshasa]. The Brazilian government also helps the students with grants.  So we have better conditions here than in Congo."

刚果留学生摩根蒂什帕玛·朗加·马尤伊说：“这里给学生使用的设施更多，比如图书馆。很多东西是金沙萨大学所没有的。巴西政府还为学生提供资助，所以这里的条件比刚果的要好。”

These young people came to find opportunities.  The United States or Europe are often inaccessible 3.  Brazil, as an emerging power, is more appealing, even though Portuguese 4 is the first language.  To get a visa for Brazil, African students are obligated to return home after they graduate.  This does not prevent them from fitting in.

这些年轻人来巴西寻找机会。美国和欧洲常常门槛太高，虽然新兴大国巴西的第一语言是葡萄牙语，但仍然更具吸引力。获得巴西签证的条件是，非洲学生毕业后必须回国。不过，这并没有妨碍他们融入当地。

"They [Brazil] were colonized 5 by the Portuguese, but they have many African roots," said Congolese student Ursila Manga Aridja. "So it was very easy to feel integrated, make friends, learn the language. So I am OK, no problem."

刚果留学生余尔斯拉·芒加·阿里贾说：“他们以前是葡萄牙殖民地，但有很多非洲的根。所以很容易就有融入感、交朋友、学会语言。所以我OK啦，没问题。”

Although this Brazilian adventure has many advantages, home-sweet-home is always on their moinds, and they miss their families. They will spend several years without seeing them.

虽然来巴西闯荡有很多益处，但留学生们的心中还是时常记挂家乡，思念家人。留学的几年期间，他们见不到亲人。

"I miss Kinshasa so much…I have been here a year-and-a-half," said Congolese student Jacques Kenemo Shako.  "It is not easy with family, to live far away from them, Mummy, Daddy. I miss them so much even if we communicate with phone calls, but it is expensive."

刚果留学生雅克·基内摩·沙克说：“我很想念金沙萨。我来这里已经一年半了。和家里人天各一方，不是那么容易。妈妈、爸爸，我好想他们，当然我们会通电话，但很贵。”

Many swear they will go back home after their studies, though with no guarantee that Africa will offer the same opportunities.  But these young people want to succeed in their country, and look at the future with an optimism they have found among Brazilians.

很多人信誓旦旦地说，学成后一定回国。虽然非洲不能保证能有同样的机会，然而，这些年轻人希望在自己的国家获得成功。受身边的巴西人感染，他们以乐观的精神放眼未来。
