口语: 马马虎虎，还凑合
“嗨，最近咋样？” “马马虎虎吧，还行。” 这个“还行”或者“还凑合”，如何用英语来表达？如果您厌倦了老套的“Just so so”，“Fair to middling”也是蛮不错的妙语佳句。 “Fair”和“middling”在此是一个意思，表示“中等的”。与“fine”（优秀）和“poor”（拙劣）相比，两个词均位于两个“极端”之间，比如：His work is only fair, certainly not distinguished 1.（他的工作只能称做一般，算不上出色）；He is a skier 2 of middling skill.（他的滑雪技术一般般。） 此外，在形容物品质量等级时，常用“fine”，“middling”和“poor”三个级别来表达。而fair如果和介词“for”搭配，口语中常用来形容“一点没错”，如：What you say is true, for fair.（你说得对，一点没错！） 再来看组对话，巩固一下我们刚刚学过的“马马虎虎”：
