CCTV9英语新闻：China-DPRK strategic dialogue begins

The strategic dialogue between China and the DPRK has opened in Beijing. DPRK First Vice 1 Foreign Minister Kim Kye Gwan and Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Yesui are co-chairing the talks.
The two sides are expected to exchange views on bilateral 2 relations and the situation on the Korean Peninsula, as well as international and regional issues of common concern. The dialogue comes just days after Pyongyang proposed high-level talks with Washington.
Pyongyang said its goal is to defuse tension and realize regional peace and security on the Korean Peninsula. Kim Kye Gwan is expected to brief China on the details of the proposed talks with the US, as well as the DPRK’s stance on a nuclear-free peninsula.
