　　SEOUL - North Korea on Saturday called for the conclusion of a peace treaty with the United States and a halt to U.S. military exercises with South Korea to end its nuclear tests.

　　（首尔）周六，朝鲜呼吁美国与其签订和平条约，并停止与韩国的联合军事演习，凭此来让朝鲜停止核试验。
　　The isolated 1 state has long sought a peace treaty with the United States, as well as an end to the exercises by South Korea and the United States, which has about 28,500 troops based in South Korea.
　　一直以来，朝鲜都希望和美国签订和平条约，同时还希望美国终止和韩国的联合军事演习。韩国的军队规模达到28500人次。
　　"Still valid 2 are all proposals for preserving peace and stability on the peninsula and in Northeast Asia including the ones for ceasing our nuclear test and the conclusion of a peace treaty in return for U.S. halt to joint 3 military exercises," North Korea’s official KCNA news agency cited a spokesman for the country’s foreign ministry 4 as saying early on Saturday.
　　周六早时，朝中社引用朝鲜外交部发言人的发言称：“任何为维护朝鲜半岛及东北亚和平的提议仍然有效，其中包括终止我国的核试验以及相应的通过和平条约使美国终止联合军演。”
　　Asked if the United States would consider a halt to joint exercises, U.S. State Department spokesman John Kirby said it had alliance commitments to South Korea.
　　当被问及美国是否会考虑停止联合演习时，美国国务院发言人John Kirby回应称美国对韩国有结盟承诺。
　　"We are going to continue to make sure the alliance is ready in all respects to act in defense 5 of the South Korean people and the security of the peninsula," he told a regular news briefing.
