Is it for fear to wet a widow's eye That thou consum'st thyself in single life? 难道是因为惧怕寡妇的泪眼飘零，你才用独身生活烧尽你自身？
Ah, if thou issueless shalt hap 1 to die, 啊，假如你不幸无后而溘然长逝，
The world will wail 2 thee like a makeless wife; 世界将为你恸哭，宛若丧偶的未亡人。
The world will be thy widow and still weep, That thou no form of thee hast left behind, 这世界就是你守寡的妻子，她哭啊哭，哭的是你未留下自己的形影。
When every private widow well may keep, 不像别的寡妇可以
By children's eyes, her husband's shape in mind. 靠孩子的眼神，便使丈夫的音容长锁寸心。
Look what an unthrift in the world doth spend, 瞧吧，浪子在世虽挥金如土，
