Tori Amos原名是Myra Ellen Amos。从小她的音乐天份就十分明显，两岁半开始弹钢琴，四岁在教堂唱诗班演唱，五岁收到巴尔的摩Peabody音乐学院的学习邀请。1991年Amos的处女大碟《Little Earthquake》进占英国金榜第14名,其中的单曲"Silent All These Years"获得MTV音乐录像带大奖最佳女歌手、新进、创意与摄影4项提名。

我们很多人都听过孙燕姿唱过的一首英文歌“Silent all these years”,那也正是王菲唱过的“冷战”。
