The Blackpool Dance Festival is the world's first and most famous annual ballroom dance competition. The first event was held in 1920, and over the years, it has evolved  to include many more events.

This summer, the festival will host its second overseas event at Shanghai Baoshan Stadium. And like the festival itself, the subdistrict of Baoshan aims to move away from its industrial characteristic.
