Ukraine's Defence Ministry 1 says its troops detained two members of an armed insurgent 2 group on Wednesday. The Ministry claims they were engaged in intelligence gathering 3 near Ukraine army checkpoints in the Donetsk region.
Pictures supplied by the Defence Ministry showed a variety of weapons said to have been taken from the two men. The Ministry said both men have confessed to being agents of Russian intelligence organisations.
According to a spokesman for the Defence Ministry, the two men are members of an illegal armed unit and were caught near checkpoints of the army’s anti-terrorist units.
