Cartoon images of Chinese president Xi Jinping and his predecessors 1 are on display at the 10th China International Cartoon and Animation 2 Festival in Hangzhou on Tuesday.
President Xi’s cartoon character was drawn 3 holding a bird cage with an official seal, representing his anti-corruption efforts since taking office. Former president Hu Jintao was portrayed 4 playing Ping Pong, as he played the game during several diplomatic visits abroad. Former Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping is seen holding one black and one white cat, alluding 5 to his famous quote of "It doesn’t matter whether the cat is black or white, as long as it catches mice." Meanwhile, cartoon figures of other former leaders were also exhibited in the cartoon festival.
