　　Well，I knew I had big lips. I didn't know what bee-stung lips were. But she said it with such warmth and such kindness that I remember going home from church and starting at myself in the mirror, because Tish hooker had said that I was pretty, and she was the first person that ever looked at me and had the courage to speak to the words. "You're pretty."

　　我只知道我长了两片厚嘴唇，我并不知道什么是撅撅嘴。但是她说这些的时候语气是那么轻柔，和蔼，我就记着从教堂回家后，我一个劲地盯着镜子里的自己看，因为迪斯·胡克说我很漂亮可爱，她是第一个看着我，有勇气对我说出“你很漂亮”这句话的人。
　　I'd never felt pretty. I knew I was smart, but this stranger, this woman who just came out of nowhere it seemed, was the first person to ever say it to me. And it made me see myself differently from that day forward, Tish Hooker saying, "You have such beautiful bee-stung lips," and I've remembered that my whole life. You never know what kindness you offer today to someone, how that might live with them forever. So，graduates, if you can be generous enough to say kind, affirming 1 words to those who may long to hear them, you will be a huge success.
　　我以前从不觉得自己漂亮。我知道我很乖巧，但是这个陌生人，这个不知道从哪儿冒出来的女人，竟然成了第一个说我漂亮的人。从那天起这句话就改变了我对自己的看法，迪斯·胡克说：“你长了这么漂亮的撅撅嘴”，这句话我一辈子都记得。你们不会知道无形之中会给别人带去怎样的善意，这样的善意或许会影响他们一生。毕业生们，如果你们能做到慷慨大方，多向那些需要鼓励的人说些善意、赞扬的话，你们定会大有作为。
　　And finally, let me just tell you a story about my success. I had a charity sale, because I have clothes in every size, 8, 12, 14, elastic 2. Sometimes it gets crowded in my closet.
