 1. A massive 40-vehicle pile-up in northern Indiana left 3 dead and more than 20 injured on Thursday. The pile-up on eastbound lanes of I-94 happened near Michigan City, about 60 miles from Chicago.


 
2. NASA says its Opportunity Rover apparently 1 took this small rock on Mars, giving scientists the rare chance to examine it. NASA described the rock as looking like a white doughnut with a jelly center. 
 
3. Multiple explosions in Egypt killed 5 people on Friday according the officials. That attacks came a day before the 3rd anniversary of the uprising that toppled President Hosni Mubarak in 2011. 
 
4. A sober-looking Justin Bieber was released from jail on Thursday. This is after his arrest earlier in the morning for a DUI and other charges. Officers said the blurry-eyed Bieber had smelt 2 of alcohol and initially 3 resisted arrest.
