3. A general strike along with more rioting is paralyzing Greece. Public transport workers worked off the job today and others took to the streets and clashed with police all over a new authority program being debated in Parliament.
4. The US has taken its first game at the Women's World Cup with a 2:0 win over North Korea. This was the opening match for the heavily favored US in the tournament which is taking place in Germany.
