E-mail, the short form for electronic mail, is one of the popularly used functions in Internet. It is the modernest communication service which can send a message to any person in the world who has an email address within a short time (i.e. from a few seconds to a few minutes).
E-mail message can be same as a letter or can include sound and pictures as well. It has more contents and carries more information than a letter does.
Everyone who enters the Internet will have an email address. The typical form of the address is: abc @ xyz. The letters before @ represent the user's codes and the letters after @ represent the name of the service device which provide the user with service, E-mail has the following long points:
(1) It can be communicated as fast as international phone call and fax.
(2) It is cheaper than an international phone call and fax.
(3) The message can be sent easily.
(4) It is a 24-hour service and the message can be received unattended.
The following points are important when using E-mail for business communication:
1. to be brief, clear and to the point
2. to provide major subject so that the recipient 2 can understand your intention
3. to ask questions directly
4. to provide information completely
5. to use the words that should be correct, polite, simple, common and to avoid mistakes of grammar, punctuation 3 marks and spelling etc.
The whole message should have no any mistakes. The concrete content depends on the needs of business and the level of foreign languages. Below is the example of getting contact with a foreign company to sell the products:

Send an E-mail to Singapore Oil Equipment Supply Company for selling drill bits by using the program of IE, the E-mail box address is: sinosc@mbox3.singnet.com.sg. The E-mail message can be written as follows:
Dear Sir:
We can provide you our exclusive products 8-1/2" ROCK drill bits at US $800 per set, which can be 20% less for an order of more 100 sets. The drill bit consists of 3 components 4: bit body, bearing and cone 5.
