A former housing official in central China's Henan Province has been detained after being found to own 29 properties.
Zhai Haifeng, the former director of the local housing administration bureau in Zhengzhou city has been accused online of being engaged in practices for his own personal gain.
Zhai, his wife, son and daughter were also found to have two residence permits each.
Zhai's case resembles that of an urban management official in Guangdong, who was dismissed for owning 22 houses.
