   NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen has confirmed Syrian government forces are continuing to launch Scud 1 missiles.


 
  The NATO chief says the recent launch of Scud missiles highlights the need for effective defense 2 and protection of NATO member state Turkey.
 
  Rasmussen says there is a potential threat the recent launch of missiles may hit Turkey's territory.
