如何破解GRE阅读难句

新GRE阅读理解中的长难句使很多考生焦头烂额，因为太难理解了，但是想要做好新GRE阅读理解题目，就必须对这些句子进行理解。
请新GRE阅读理解中A类欲达7分者认真研读，其味隽永。注意要先不读懂意思只分析其主干，然后在结构把握好的情况下去理解，以锻炼迅速读懂难句的能力。
(一) 主题题概念
主题题，即通过对文章通篇的准确理解，根据所给题目和选项，判断出文章主旨或者中心大意的一种题型。
(二) 主题题的分类
1.目的性主题题：根据topic sentence(ts)做同义变换;2.写法型主题题：回文中定位并理清结构脉络;3.标题题：根据ts选出最合适的选项，过于晦涩或间接的标题一般不选;4.变相主题题：根据ts及文章大体内容选出最合适的选项。
(三) 主题题解题思路
1.通过题干中的特征词来判断问题归属于哪种题型;2.通篇详略读→抓核心→确定文章类型;
3.带着问题回到原文精确定位→结合定位处以及周边信息来排除选项;在做题过程中，想要对于主题题目做出准确有效的作答，最重要的一点就是对文章观点和结构类型做出判断。
(四) 解题步骤
步骤1：依据题干中的特征词来判断问题题型;

1、 differs from 通过上一句话中的like和but可以确定这里表示转折即Herbert Gutman与其他历史学家的不同见解。
2、 however 通常来说独立的一个词后面紧跟着逗号都是表示转折意义的，而且结合对空格处以上内容的理解也能够确认这一信息。
