Three astronaunts landed on earth safely


 


The three astronauts aboard the Shenzhou-10 spacecraft have now set foot back on Earth after a 15-day mission in space and are in good physical condition and in good spirits.


"It is my second manned space mission. I'm very familiar with the place we have landed. It feels really good to be home again. I just want wish our country and the people prosperity. "


"I am very excited right now. Thanks everyone who have concerned and supported us."


"The space mission has fulfilled my dreams, one is traveling in space and another is to be a teacher. And this time I got to teach from the space. I wish all young people have their own dreams, those who have dreams will succeed."


The capsule of the Shenzhou-10 spacecraft successfully returned to earth earlier this morning.


While in orbit, the three astronauts completed two docking tests with the Tiangong-1 experimental space lab.


The astronauts also gave a special lecture to students on earth for the first time in China's space exploration.


 


 


Shenzhou-10 mission marks staged success of China's manned space program: Vice 1 Premier 2


 


Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli says the completion of the Shenzhou-10 and Tiangong-1 mission is a staged success in achieving the second strategic goal of China's manned space program.


He said the mission is also greatly significant in shoring up China's economic and technological 3 power.


The completion of the mission is also seen as the manned space program entering a new stage of the space station construction.


 


 


Four Chinese killed in Papua New Guinea: Chinese Embassy


 


Four Chinese citizens have been killed in a bread shop in Papua New Guinea's capital Port Moresby.


Port Moresby has long been plagued by violence and murder cases.


The Chinese Embassy there says that the victims were three men and one woman killed on Monday night.


 


 


China, India to hold talks on border issues


 


The Chinese and Indian governments are set to hold border talks later this week here inBeijing.


Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi and Indian National Security Adviser 4 Shiv Shankar Menon will oversee 5 the border talks on Friday and Saturday.


This is the 16th meeting between special representatives on the issue.


The Chinese government says both sides have been keeping in contact with one-another on issues connected to the border.


China and India have been at odds 6 for decades over the demarcation of their shared border in both the Kashmir region and along India's eastern border with China.


 


 


China's registered drug users top 2 mln


 


The Ministry 7 of Public Security is reporting the number of registered drug users here inChina now exceeds 2-million.


The stats suggest over 4 out of 5 drug users here in China are men.


The ministry says over half of the known drug users here in China are between 19 and 35.


Less than 1-percent of the known users are under the age of 18.


The stats also show a rise in the rate of synthetic 8 drug abuse here in China.


3 out of 5 users here in China are addicted 9 to opiates.


 


 


Snowden still in transit 10 area at Moscow airport -- Putin


 


Russian President Vladimir Putin says NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden is still atMoscow's main airport.


Putin, who is currently on a visit to Finland, says Snowden's arrival in Moscow was completely unexpected.


He says he hopes Snowden's presence at the airport in Moscow won't impair 11 ties with theUnited States.


Snowden disappeared from public view on Sunday after flying from Hong Kong toMoscow.


It's believed he's trying to gain transit to Ecuador to avoid extradition 12 to the United States, where he's facing upto 30-years in prison for leaking secret government information.


 


 


Mongolian presidential election starts


 


The Mongolian presidental elections are underway.


It's widely expected incumbent 13 Tsakhia Elbegdorj will be reelected.


The Mongolian economy under his watch has grown by more than 10-percent over the last 2-years.


Elbegdorj is up against a pair of opponents, including his current Health Minister.


More than 1.85-million people are eligable to vote in the Mongolian Presidental elections.


 


 


Silvio Berlusconi supporters demonstrate against his conviction


 


Hundreds of supporters of former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi have gathered in Rome to protest against his conviction.


They say the conviction is "scandalous" and they remain proud of Berlusconi.


Berlusconi was sentenced to seven years in prison and banned from politics for life on Monday for sexual relations with a minor 14.


The girl was then an underaged Moroccan dancer known as "Ruby 15 Heartstealer."


Berlusconi is also facing a final appeal in a tax fraud conviction, for which he has been sentenced to four years in jail and a five-year ban from office.
