A grandmother and a little girl whose face was sprinkled with bright red freckles 1 spent the day at the zoo. The children were waiting in line to get their cheeks painted by a local artist who was decorating them with tiger paws.
'You've got so many freckles, there's no place to paint!' a boy in the line cried.
Embarrassed, the little girl dropped her head. Her grandmother knelt down next to her. 'I love your freckles,' she said.
'Not me,' the girl replied.
'Well, when I was a little girl I always wanted freckles,' she said, tracing her finger across the child's cheek. 'Freckles are beautiful!'
The girl looked up. 'Really?'
'Of course,' said the grandmother. 'Why, just name me one thing that's prettier than freckles.'
The little girl peered into the old woman's smiling face. 'Wrinkles,' she answered softly.
一个祖母和一个脸上挂着鲜红的雀斑小女孩在动物园里度过了一天。孩子们排着队，等待当地的艺术家用老虎爪子装饰他们的脸颊。
“你的雀斑太多了，没有地方画画了！”排队的男孩喊着。
因为太尴尬了，小女孩低下了头。她的祖母跪在她旁边说“我喜欢你的雀斑。”
“可我不，”女孩回答说。
“我小时候总是想要雀斑，”她说，一边用手指划过孩子的脸颊。雀斑真的好美！
女孩抬起头来。真的吗？”
“当然啦，”祖母说。“那你给我说一个比雀斑漂亮的东西。”
小女孩凝视着老妇人的笑脸。“皱纹，”她轻声回答。
