The trough over NSW and Western Queensland is causing showers and potentially severe storms. Westerlies are bringing showers to Tasmania, Southern Victoria and South Australia. A broad area of low pressure is generating showers and storms in the tropics, while the trough over inland Western Australia is bringing the odd storm.
Looking around the states.
In Queensland, showers and storms on the peninsula and southwest. Mostly sunny in the east.
NSW can expect a warm day with showers and storms in the north, cooler and mostly sunny in the south.
A few showers expected for Victoria, mostly in the south and the ranges, warm in the north and mild in the south.
In Tasmania, winds and showers increasing from the west, mostly dry in the far east with moderate winds.
A few showers in the South Australian coast, warm in the state's north with thundery showers.
Isolated 1 thundery showers for WA's interior and north, mostly sunny in the north and the south.
In the Northern Territory, scattered 2 showers and storms expected over the Top End, mostly dry in the center and isolated showers in the south.
Looking ahead to tomorrow. A late thunder for Darwin and Brisbane. Mostly sunny in Sydney, Canberra and Perth. Possible showers for Canberra and Adelaide. And showers clearing for Hobart.
