give (somebody) one's word 约定
give sb one's word 表明“约定”的意思，主要用作 I give you my word (我向你保证）的形态。换句话说，可以理解成 I'll promise 1 you,对于被承诺的一方，则是 take one's word。
例句：
I will give you my word I'll do what I can.
