Chinese Premier 1 Li Keqiang is leaving for Davos, Switzerland, today for the annual World Economic Forum 2.
He will attend the session Wednesday and is expected to deliver a clear message of confidence in the world's second largest economy, amid the fragile global recovery.
As for the Davos Forum itself, this year's theme has been set as "The New Global Context," aiming to explore the most pressing global challenges in 2015.
Premier Li will also pay a working visit to Switzerland, with many expecting that bilateral 3 financial cooperation will be a focus.
A Chinese consular 4 working group has arrived at Myitgyina, capital of Myanmar's northern Kachin state, to provide consular protection for Chinese citizens who have been detained for illegal logging.
The group is also working on verifying media reports that hundreds of Chinese citizens have been trapped in the area amid armed clashes between government troops and ethnic 5 rebels.
The Chinese government has issued a call to Myanmar authorities to ensure the safety of Chinese nationals in the area.
