2005年5月25号，在全美3000万收视人次的见证下，来自奥克拉荷马州的Muskogee郡的女孩凯莉安德伍(Carrie Underwood)成了热门歌唱竞赛节目“美国偶像”第4季的冠军。

　　凯莉安德伍的歌声兼具了流行摇滚的率真性格以及乡村音乐的醇美气质，在她那挥洒自如的歌声演唱下，每一首歌曲的情感都能得到恰如其分的解读。2005年6月起，凯莉安德伍的歌唱实力开始发光发热，她加盟Arista厂牌的首支单曲"Inside Your Heaven"在发行首周就以超过17万张的销售，毫不客气的要天后玛丽亚凯莉冠军曲"We Belong Together"让出一个礼拜的冠军后座，这首单曲的夺冠更让她成为首位以出道首支单曲就称霸热门单曲榜冠军的乡村歌手。

　　2005年11月中旬，安德伍发行首张大碟《Some Hearts》，发行首周就以31万5000多张的销售数字空袭流行专辑榜亚军，同时也在乡村专辑榜上演出空降冠军的盛况，专辑上架四个礼拜就创下百万张销售，获得美国唱片工会的白金唱片销售认证，专辑发行不到两个月的时间，销量更早已冲破200万张大关。截至2006年3月底的统计，专辑蝉联了乡村专辑榜16周冠军，同时也在流行专辑榜TOP10停留达18周之久。《Some Hearts》成为乡村音乐史上销售速度最快，也是最快获颁销售认证的首张专辑。专辑中融合乡村/流行福音/抒情摇滚曲风，阐扬信仰力量的单曲"Jesus, Take The Wheel"蝉联了乡村单曲榜6周冠军，与Faith Hill的"Breathe"并列为蝉联乡村榜冠军周数第2多的女艺人。

　　除了屡创销售佳绩，凯莉安德伍也博得了各大音乐奖的喝采掌声，她首先以"Inside Your Heaven"拿下2005年Billboard音乐奖年度最畅销热门单曲、最畅销乡村单曲、最畅销乡村单曲艺人等3项大奖，2006年春季再以"Jesus, Take The Wheel"获得乡村音乐学院奖(ACM)年度歌曲、年度单曲、最佳女歌手、最佳新进女歌手等4项提名，以及乡村音乐电视奖(CMT)最佳女艺人音乐录影带、最具突破性音乐录影带、最具启发性音乐录影带等3项提名。
