About a thousand anti-government protesters have forced their way into the compound of the Royal Thai Army Headquarters.
Elsewhere in the capital, hundreds of protesters have surrounded the headquarters of the Prime Ministers ruling party.
The protesters have rejected Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra's call for talks, aimed at easing the recent political tensions.
