  一、序数词前冠词的使用
  序数词前通常要用定冠词,但有时也可使用不定冠词,还真是比较麻烦!我们可以这样来区分:当要强调顺序且表示特指时,就用定冠词;当不强调顺序而是表示“又,还,再”时,就用不定冠词。如:
  I like the third girl. 我喜欢第三个女孩。
  Soon I saw 1 a third girl. 不久我又看见了第三个女孩。
  第一句用the third,说明至少有三个女孩供选择,这里是特指第三个,以区别前面的另外两个;第二句用a third,它不强调顺序,也不表示特指,而是表示数量的又一次增加,说明现在看见的已是第三个了,其言外之意就是原来已看见过两个。
  二、go to school与go to the school
  像bed, table, class, school, college 2, church 3, prison 4等名词,其前的冠词也比较麻烦,有时用,有时又不用。这样区别:当它们指事物本身时,可用冠词;当它们表示与该事物有关的作用或功能时,就不能用冠词。如:
  I like the school. 我喜欢这所学校。
  I like school. 我喜欢上学。
  第一句的school前用了定冠词,表示学校本身;第二句的school前没有用冠词,表示school的作用是供人读书学习的地方。类似地还有:
  go to the bed 去床边(表示床本身,故用冠词)
  go to bed 去睡觉(表示床的作用是供人睡觉)
  be in the prison 在这个监狱里(不一定是坐牢)
  be in prison 在坐牢(监狱的作用就让人服役或坐牢的地方)
  三、三餐饭前的冠词使用
  我们有时吃饭是用have breakfast,有时吃饭又是have a breakfast,你是知道是什么原因吗?按英语习惯,表示三餐饭的breakfast, lunch, supper前是不用冠词的。如:
  I go to work after breakfast. 我吃早餐后就去上班。
  Ask him to join us for lunch. 请他和我们一起吃午饭。
  但是,它们若受到形容词修饰,表示具有某种特征的一顿饭时,就要在前面加上不定冠词。如:
  We had 5 a very late lunch. 我们很晚才吃午饭。
  We had a working lunch. 我们吃了一顿工作午餐。

  • The moment I saw you,I knew you were angry with me.我一看到你,就知道你在生我的气。

  • The college drama society is going to put on a play.大学戏剧协会正准备上演一个剧目。
  • I was hot on playing basketball when I was in college.我上大学时热衷于打篮球。
n.教堂,礼拜堂;教会
  • Mary joined a church yesterday.玛丽昨天加入了教会。
  • She was standing on the church steps.她正站在教堂门前的台阶上。
n.监狱(禁);拘留所
  • They put him in a prison.他们将他逮捕入狱。
  • If you go on like this you will be put into prison. 你这样下去会进监狱的。

  • I just had a good idea!我有个好主意!
  • The boy had a small branch of a tree in his hand.这个男孩手上拿一条小树枝。
