Chinese Premier 1 Li Keqiang is calling on both China and Germany to further open up their markets to each other and become pioneers in innovation.
In making the statement, Li Keqiang says his government is considering Volkswagen's request for increasing its stake in FAW-Volkswagen, which is a China- Germany joint 2 venture.
Germany is China's largest trade partner in the European Union.
Li Keqiang's statement comes ahead of his trip to Germany later today.
There he's expected to attend a business summit including officials from both China and Germany.
A total of eight relief teams have been dispatched to Jinggu County in Yunnan to deal with the aftermath of Tuesday night's earthquake.
So far one person has dead and 324 others injured.
Eight of them are in critical condition.
The 6.6 magnitude quake leveled nearly 7-thousand homes in the remote region of Yunnan, about 500-kilometers southwest of the provincial 3 capital, Kunming.
