   LESSON 45 RAIN

Rain comes from the clouds. Look, there are black clouds now in the sky.
How fast they move along 2! See, they have hidden 3 the sun.
They have covered 5 up the sun, just as 1 you cover 4 up your face when you put something over it.
But there is one little bit 6 of blue sky.
Now there is no blue sky at all: it is all black with the clouds.
It is very dark 7, like night. It will rain soon.
Now the rain begins. What large drops!
The ducks are very glad; but the little birds are not glad,—they go and shelter 8 themselves 9 under the trees.
Now the rain is over. It was 10 only a shower.
Now the flowers smell sweet, and the bright sun shines 11, and the little birds sing again.
